Water Courtyard House

Most courtyard homes focus on garden spaces that are easily accessed from the interior. What if we incorporated a reflecting pool within a home’s courtyard that could also be used for collecting, filtering, and recycling rainwater that could be used within the home? In this video, we’re designing a 2400 square foot courtyard house with 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and plenty of space for gathering, private areas for working, and a beautiful 250 square foot reflecting pool at the center of the home. The ambiance created by the shimmering light reflecting off of the water in the central courtyard combined with the sounds of the light ripples of the waves and the rustling of leaves from the Japanese maple tree creates a calm space for reflection.
