My Gear

Here’s all of the gear that I use to create my architecture designs, renderings, and content on my channel. I’ll update this as I change gear.

Software:

Lumion Pro: https://lumion.com/

Autodesk Revit: https://www.autodesk.com/products/revit/architecture

Adobe: https://www.adobe.com/

My workflow is Revit for 3D modeling, Lumion Pro for setting up all image and video renderings, and Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing.

PC & Desk Setup:

This is a basic overview of my PC and Desk setup along with some of my thoughts on them. Hopefully you find humor in my short stories of each of them. If you don’t care about these descriptions, go straight down to the links or the images of the products.

FYI - all of the links are affiliate links which means that I earn a small commission on any sales at no extra cost to you. This is how content creators like me are able to support their work. You probably already know this, but I’d rather be upfront about it. Thanks for checking out my gear!

Desktop: I’ve been using an Alienware desktop with the highest specifications available at the time that I purchased it. The one linked below is the latest from Dell. What’s important to me are the graphics card (as of 2025, Nvidia 5080 at a minimum), 2TB SSD minimum, good processor, and the best and most RAM as you could possibly afford. Yes, it’s expensive but when you want to put out 4k ray traced rendering videos, this will cut down the time significantly. Now you might be wondering, why am I putting out 4k ray traced video renderings? Honestly, I click the highest output settings available and go with the flow… Just kidding. Quality is key and 4k ray traced results in really beautiful images and videos.

Monitor: I’ve been using a single large ASUS ProArt monitor. It helps me stay focused without any distractions. Yes, we’re in a very distracting world. One monitor, linear thought process, and major focus when I work.

Mouse + Keyboard: I use Logitech’s MX series Keyboard and vertical mouse for its amazing ergonomic qualities. Yes, it was extremely weird to get used to at first, but I can’t see myself going back to a standard mouse. I used to get a lot of wrist pain and tense joints which have gone away. The keyboard has been amazing but it’s really just a nice slim keyboard…

Speakers: I use Edifier - M60. I’m old school and prefer plugged in speakers with great quality over a single Bluetooth speaker. It has Bluetooth as well, but I plug it into my desktop. It’s great for video editing, but more importantly, jamming out hard to music while designing. As a creator, music is important as I’m working. Wondering what I listen to? LoFi beats or coffee house style chill music.

Microphone: I use Shure MV7+. I know, my videos sound like it’s an AI generated voice. But that’s really my voice and if you could hear all the mess-ups I have as I record each video, it would be the end of my career… Just have an idea of what you’re going to say or fully script it out like me, hit record, and go. You can cut out the mistakes in your final video and find humor in the process.

Chair + Standing Desk: I use Herman Miller’s Embody Chair and a standing desk from Autonomous. I’ve used my Embody chair for over a decade now and it’s one of the best investments I’ve made for myself. I picked one up for my brother, my wife, and my work office. I also bought the standing desk from Autonomous when they first started the company and I don’t think they make the gigantic size that I have anymore (84” wide x 36” deep). These have brought more health benefits to working in my office than anything else I’ve purchased. If you get the chair or desk, get it from a place that will fully assemble it for you unless you know how to do it yourself.

Desk Pad: I purchased a random LED backlit soft memory foam-like desk pad with magnetic chargers. With all the time I put into developing my design concepts and videos, I can’t believe I waited so long to buy such a low cost product that saved my wrists. And in the winter, I don’t need to be afraid to put my wrists on the ice cold surface of my table.

Sketchbook and Pen: I’ve always used a red Moleskine sketchbook with slightly thicker paper. Always hard cover. Why red? I used to color code my books… For the fountain pen, my brother got me into them and I use a Fountain Pen from Pilot with a medium nib like the one below. But my pilot pen has a handcrafted Maki-e artwork on it. Yes, I know, these are very expensive! If cost is an issue, start simple and basic. Remember, the pen is the tool and your mind is the creator. The sharper your tool, the finer your idea. Find a medium that works for you.

Memo Pad: As soon as I have an idea or need to jot something down, I use disposable memo paper. I specifically use a small square paper that I have absolutely no connection or feelings towards and I’ll sketch an idea in less than a minute or write a few notes then throw it away when I’m done. If I don’t get to the idea, I pin it on my tack board for future reference. Honestly, I’m still using the colored paper cube that we bought for my younger sister when she was still in elementary school over 2 decades ago… Who would’ve thought that it would bring so many ideas to life!
