Multi-Courtyard Japanese Home

Traditional Japanese homes have amazing courtyards and are designed as large complexes where tall fence walls that surround the property creates the enclosure around some of the gardens. What if we designed a smaller version of the traditional Japanese house complex and designed a home with multiple courtyards? In this video, we’re designing a 1900 square foot home with 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and 1000 square feet of both common and private garden spaces that the family can enjoy. It’s influenced by traditional and contemporary Japanese architecture with exposed wood ceilings, doors, and window frames, decks where you can sit at an elevated position from the gardens, and plenty of Japanese plants and trees.
